What is CHYK
Chinmaya
Yuva Kendra
CHYK — Chinmaya Yuva Kendra — is the global youth wing of Chinmaya Mission. Founded under the guidance of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda, CHYK exists to channel the immense energy and potential of youth towards purposeful, values-driven living.
With members across India and the world, CHYK offers young people a community, a curriculum, and a calling — through structured Vedantic study, cultural programmes, adventure, service, and leadership development.
Whether through residential camps, weekly study classes, national conventions, or yatras to the Himalayas — CHYK is where ancient wisdom meets modern youth.
Our Motto
शर्तो बद्धं भवत्यात्मा
शर्तो मुच्यते मानवः।
"The self is bound by actions performed with selfish attachment; it is liberated by actions performed in a spirit of dedication and surrender."
— Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda
"You are not the body, not the mind, not the intellect. You are the pure, eternal, infinite Consciousness — the Self. Find yourself."
— Swami Chinmayananda

Join CHYKOur Symbol
The CHYK Emblem
The flame symbolises the light of Knowledge — ever-burning, ever-illuminating. It represents the Vedantic pursuit of self-knowledge that CHYK places at the heart of youth development.
Rooted in muddy waters yet blooming in pristine beauty, the lotus signifies purity of character and the ability to rise above worldly challenges without being tainted by them.
Youth — the rising generation — full of energy, potential, and the promise of a new dawn. The sun represents the brightness CHYK seeks to ignite in every young seeker.
The Devanagari text carries the name and motto — a reminder that CHYK stands at the confluence of ancient wisdom and the modern world.
